Tweeters,

Yesterday, Gina Sheridan and I birded Table Mtn. at Mt. Baker with a
non-birder friend of mine. It was a glorious day and the vistas of
Shuksan and Baker were stunning. So too, was the variety of raptors we
observed gliding over and along the ridge top. A couple of delightful
surprises included PRAIRIE FALCON, and GOLDEN EAGLE. MERLIN gave us a
two falcon day. A female SOOTY GROUSE posed nicely in a tree for a
close approach and much picture taking, but no Ptarmigan could be had by
these late-comers. We greatly enjoyed all the wonderful montane species
at eye level in the natural bonsai trees at the top.
