Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday September 28. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On September 23 a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was seen near Leaburg, east of
Springfield. A PRAIRIE WARBLER was reported September 25 on the South Jetty
of the Siuslaw River. A TENNESSEE WARBLER was seen September 21 at
Luckiamute Landing in Benton County. A WHITE-WINGED DOVE is now being seen
at a farm six miles south of Burns Junction.

Heavy movements during the week included GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS,
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, PIPITS, and GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS.

Among the many birds spotted on a cruise ship off Oregon September 25 were
95 LONG-TAILED JAEGERS, 380 POMARINE JAEGERS, and 73 XANTUS?S MURRELETS.

On September 27 a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, seven WHITE PELICANS, and a HORNED
GREBE were at Smith/Bybee Lakes in North Portland. Up to 205 GREAT EGRETS
are also being seen there. On September 24 a PALM WARBLER was on Marys Peak
near Philomath. On September 21 a LONG-TAILED JAEGER, three SABINE?S GULLS,
and a flock of COMMON TERNS were at Fern Ridge Reservoir. Two STILT
SANDPIPERS were there September 25.

On September 23 a RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER was at Powell Butte, east of
Redmond. On September 25, 16 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were in one tree in a
northeast Burns neighborhood.
