dear folks

when we moved to lummi island this spring, i was one of those birders
who did not keep a list - no life list - nothing

i said - "its not a collection - i just love birds" well all of that
has changed and i started a yard list two days after moving in because
i was flabbergasted by the birds i could see without leaving my porch.

this morning the total went up to 66 with a peregrine falcon perched
above my little trailer.

all of this is to say that i love my list. because of it i am learning
warblers, finally. and oh my god are they a challenge ( i thought
shorebirds were a challenge(they are!!!!!)- one of the nice things
about shorebirds - it doesnt hurt your neck to watch them.

anyway - i'd love to hear about other tweeter's yard lists and also
what people think in general about compiling them.
