Tweets,
Three immature Franklin's Gulls from EAST side of Jimmy Come Lately
Creek and a Golden Plover south end of Sequim Bay viewed from the S'Klallam
Tribal Headquarters. We argued about American vs Pacific but it was just too
far away to be sure.
A tip on the sighting. I was with Richard Isherwood and Dick Johnson. We
parked on the EAST end of East Sequim Bay Road and on approaching the
flats, Richard turned and walked out on the flats which I had avoided doing
because then looked too goopy. They were solid enough to walk on without
sinking in especially if you walk near the gravel berm on the east. The
three Franklin's Gulls mixed with Mew, Bonaparte's, Ring Billed, California
and hybrids moved out from the bank and where we thought there was one there
were three. We also walked in to the west bank and while there were a number
of Black-bellied Plovers and gulls there there were no Golden Plovers and
only one Long-billed Dowitcher.
