I have lived at this address for 15 years and have seen/heard ravens
here twice, March 1997 and July 2005. I have seen them off and on
elsewhere in the Seattle area, but never dependably (although I know
of a pair that has nested in Bridle Trails Park).

Just in the past week or so I've seen ravens in two places I usually
don't.

Two over I-5 near Fife, Pierce Co., on 9/22. Only my second time from
I-5 between Seattle and Tacoma, after 16 years of making that commute.

One over hwy 525 between hwy 99 and Edmonds, Snohomish Co., on 9/27.

The east side of the Puget Sound lowlands from Everett to Tacoma has
long been the gap in raven distribution in the state, and perhaps it
is slowly filling in. Alternatively, these may just be young birds
dispersing in the fall.
