Today, I did a bird survey out at the Grays Harbor NWR in Hoquiam. There were about 4000 Dunlin present today, but unfortunately they spent most of their time on Moon Island just off the point from the end of the Sandpiper Trail. One Peregrine Falcon did fly over and I got to watch a female Northern Harrier be harrassed by a few crows while she was trying to eat something. Nothing much more exciting than that except when I got to meet a fellow Tweeter, Carol Schulz and her friend.

As Carol mentioned, please be advised that in Aberdeen the east-bound Highway 12 bridge is closed for repairs for awhile so when leaving Aberdeen it is much advised to take the alternate route through Cosmopolis to Highway 107 which takes you to Montesano. The traffic hasn't been bad going west towards Hoquiam, but I would beware a clam digging weekend.

On the way home, I swung through the Brady Loop area as well and my best sighting was another Tweeter, Charlie Wright. We scanned through the large Canada/Cackling goose flock and found no oddballs. I was surprised to see Greater Yellowlegs pretty much everywhere around the loop. Also, there were a few Dunlin and Black-bellied Plovers around. I also noted one Cinnamon Teal pair.
