Dear Tweeters,

Thanks to Harry Nehl's helpful information, I was able
to see the FALCATED DUCK in Eugene, Oregon on Monday
(4-02-07). This has to be one of the most beautiful
birds that I have ever seen--worth the long trip. I
wonder how much longer it will linger in
Gainesborough.

Afterwards, I enjoyed birding the Fern Ridge Reservoir
area. From Perkins Peninsula Park I observed, among
other birds, a CLARK'S GREBE and two AMERICAN WHITE
PELICANS. In the Coyote Creek area, south of the lake,
I observed a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK carrying a snake.
Another Red-shoulder was somewhere in the distance,
calling to the snake-bearer.
