May not sound exciting to the rest of you in Purple Finch country, but this
afternoon at about 12:15 pm I saw my first Purple Finch at Camp Long since
starting observations there 7 years ago. It was a female. While common in
the olympia area and elsewhere, I can't remember seeing any in Seattle in
decades here.
