Subject: [Tweeters] Archilochus-type hummer at Discovery Pk.

Today at 3:00 pm, my wife and I left Discovery Park's visitor center to
take in some of the great weather and maybe catch some early migrants.
Not far from the visitor's center, a mere 50 m or so to the southwest,
we heard some chipping and saw off in the distance, a hummingbird
flycatching. We got intermittent looks for about five minutes. From
this we gathered that the bird was dull green on back, had a reddish
purple throat that didn't extend to the side of the neck, and twitched
its tail. As recent eastcoast transplants we immediately thought
ruby-throated. Aside from that, all we can come up with is
black-chinned--an Archilochus bird no less.

If any of y'all find the bird and have the patience and skill to snap
some photos, I'd love to see them.

Cheers,
Chris
