Saturday April 07 2007:
Six MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRDS were seen on fence posts in the Stamp Falls area near
Port Alberni, also seen in the same area were a pair of NORTHERN HARRIERS.
A GREAT BLUE HERON and TREE and VIOLET- GREEN SWALLOWS were seen along
Wildlife Place near Buttertubs Marsh in Nanaimo.
A flock of WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS have arrived along Overlook Drive in
Nanaimo.
Male and female RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS and ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS are visiting
feeders in the 4100 block of Gulfview Drive in Nanaimo.
AMERICAN GOLDFINCH were seen at feeders along Thunderbird Drive and in
Sharman Park in Nanaimo.

Friday April 06:
A CHIPPING SPARROW was seen and heard singing on top of a tall Fir tree
along Bridgewater Lane in Parksville.
A SHARP-SHINNED HAWK and VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS were seen along Corfield Road
in Parksville

Thursday April 05:
A female RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD has been coming to feeders in the 100 block of
Cooper Place in Parksville.

Wednesday April 04:
The Wednesday Bird Walk to Rathtrevor Provincial Park was not held because
of the rain, but there were 1000 DUNLIN, BRANT GEESE, BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS
and a huge numbers of CALIFORNIA & MEW GULLS. A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER and
a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET were seen in the bushes just off the parking lot at
Rathtrevor Provincial Park.
A CHIPPING SPARROW was seen in the 2100 block of Lancashire Avenue in
Nanaimo.

at 9 a.m. every Wednesday, and go to a different area in and around
Parksville/Qualicum Beach each week. BRING YOUR BINOCULARS AND JOIN US FOR
A MORNING OF BIRDING.

Rathtrevor Park at about 9:10 a.m. Please note there is a fee for parking
( $1.00/hour) at Rathtrevor Park.
