Hi Tweets,
Last Tuesday while driving home from Rainier, on the McKenna Hiway I witnessed a pair of Red-tailed Hawks mating on a large snag. We have lots of RTH's in the area and looks like more to come.
Then today waiting for the light at Hiway 161 and 176th a RTH flew to the sidewalk and grabbed a starling, not 20 feet away from my car. When the hawk rose to fly away the starling got away (it was only caught by a wing feather) only to reveal that the hawk had actually caught two starlings, keeping a good hold on the last one. Very cool!
