Hello Tweets,

We have just updated our website with many, many new photos taken yesterday while birding on Easter Sunday. These photos include the male Mountain Bluebird and an adult Chipping Sparrow at the south access area of the Scatter Creek WMA in Thurston Co. The Mountain Bluebird was quite tolerant of us,as we ventured along the horse trail from another trail that we connected from and was faithful to 2 posts in an open field. Eventually the bird flew a short distance north after 30 minutes of us watching it to a large evergreen tree immediately northwest of the "island of trees". It was a great bird to see as first reported by Kelly McAllister and Jim Lynch and maybe the bird will continue at this location before migrating onward. Perhaps this bird is the same male that persisted for a few days in March at nearby Mima Mounds. The Chipping Sparrow was a nice bird to see,as we returned from our hike to the main parking area and was surprisingly our only one at that location. The Western Bluebirds were also at this same location perched atop several trees and wires in a residential yard across from the main parking area. Additional photos during the day were taken at the Nisqually NWR including one of several perched Northern Rough-winged Swallows and a pair of Hooded Mergansers along the McAllister Creek Trail.
