This morning I found several groups of geese moving north of the Para Ponds NW of Othello. I was able to count 46 SNOW GEESE, including 2 blue phase, and 6 ROSS'S GEESE. I think there were others hiding behind vegetation and flying around out of view. These are all high counts for me in this area. Also two American White Pelicans at the Para Ponds.
I also stopped at the County Line Ponds along SR 26. The Eurasian Green-winged Teal is still there. Also a dozen Dunlin, 18 American Avocets, and 88 Black-necked Stilts that were visible, plus some out of view when I was counting.
There are still several thousand Sandhill Cranes in the Corfu area. The pasture along Lower Crab Creek Road SE of the Corfu farm fields is being flood irrigated, and today 1400 were easily visible at roost from the road looking north.
