Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 12. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On April 5 a GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was at Fern Ridge Reservoir. The Lakeside
GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE continues to be seen. A TUFTED DUCK is now being seen
at Fern Ridge Reservoir. The Meares Lake TUFTED DUCK is still being seen.
The spring migration is now well underway. YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS,
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS, and PURPLE MARTINS were conspicuous during the
week, with some NASHVILLE WARBLERS, CASSIN?S VIREOS, and VAUX?S SWIFTS seen.
TUFTED PUFFINS are now back on Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach.
Three CLARK?S GREBES were at New River April 10. A male MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD
was seen April 4 on the North Spit of Coos Bay. A HAMMOND?S FLYCATCHER was
near Toledo April 7. On April 8 a group of eight BROWN PELICANS were flying
along Clatsop Beach. A RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER has been seen during the week in
Astoria.
A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was at Ridgefield NWR April 8. On April 7 an early
BAIRD?S SANDPIPER was on Sauvie Island. A MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD and a LOGGERHEAD
SHRIKE were seen during the week at the Portland Airport. On April 8, 12
BONAPARTE?S GULLS were at the Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove. Two
BLACK-NECKED STILTS were at Baskett Slough NWR April 4. Several were at Fern
Ridge Reservoir the next day. A COMMON GREEN-WINGED TEAL was at Ankeny NWR
April 10. A male MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD was near Roseburg April 5.
