I got to Marymoor at 4.45pm and found the American tree sparrow at
5.05pm in the brambles between the dirt mounds and the east meadow. Its
rusty cap showed up nicely through the leaves and let me pick it out
from among the white-crowned and savannahs lurking in the bushes.
Fortunately, it then chose to move to an outlying branch rather than
deeper, and I got good looks at it from all angles before I lost it when
it flew round the back of the mounds. I stayed another 25 mins hoping
for a repeat appearance and a better photo op, but I didn't find it
again.
