Today I checked the Goodrich pond this morning, and then again this
evening. The pond activity was like day and night. This morning I had
only 2 Greater Yellowlegs, but in the evening, I had 25+ Greater
Yellowlegs, 2 Killdeer, and 1 Black-bellied Plover in full breeding
plumage. Also in the evening, the swallow numbers had increased, and in
the mix were several Northern Rough-winged Swallows. I checked the
slough out as well. I had 1 Pine Siskin, lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers,
1 pair of Ring-necked Ducks, several American Wigeons, 6 Buffleheads,
and 11 Wood Ducks. Along the trail I had 1 Scrub Jay, 2 Bald Eagles, 7
Golden-crowned Sparrows, 1 Western Meadowlark, 1 Orange-crowned Warbler,
and 6 Turkey Vultures.
