Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 19. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On April 14 a YELLOW-BILLED LOON was seen on Siletz Bay. The Meares Lake
TUFTED DUCK continues to be seen.

The spring migration is quickly coming to a peak. VAUX?S SWIFTS, warblers,
vireos, and flycatchers are now conspicuous. Large flocks PINE SISKINS and
AMERICAN GOLDFINCHES are being reported in the Willamette Valley.

The Harris Beach State Park EMPEROR GOOSE is still being seen. The
CLAY-COLORED SPARROW continues at Barb Griffin?s feeders in North Bend.
MARBLED GODWITS and COMMON TERNS were on the Bayocean Peninsula at Tillamook
Bay April 14. Many thousands of SOOTY SHEARWATERS were at the mouth of the
Columbia River April 11.

A BLACK-NECKED STILT was near Canby April 14. They are now back along Farmer
Road at Baskett Slough NWR. A CLARK?S GREBE was on the refuge April 15. On
April 15 a CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was on Skinners Butte in Eugene. A BULLOCK?S
ORIOLE was near Grants Pass April 15.

The WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS are now back along the Crooked River north of
Terrebonne. A LONG-TAILED DUCK was seen April 17 at Pelton Dam near Madras.
On April 16 a BAND-TAILED PIGEON was in Klamath Falls.
