Subject: [Tweeters] interesting duck flock

Dear Tweeters,
Today at dusk in the Skagit River near the east end of
Cockreham Island (Skagit County), I saw an interesting
little flock of ducks. There were five or six each of
Ring-necked Duck and Lesser Scaup, five or six
Northern Shovellers, and a pair of Cinnamon Teal, all
rafting down the Skagit at a leisurely pace. They
would have provided a photographer or painter with
quite a striking subject--although I daresay the
painter might have been accused of inventing a
fanciful gathering of waterfowl.
Yours truly,
Gary Bletsch
