After Jim Acton reported several interesting birds
(Fox Sparrow, Chipping Sparrow, Nashville Warbler,
Orange-crowned Warbler, Hermit Thrush, Red-naped
Sapsucker) in Davenport Cemetery, I made a dash out
there myself this afternoon. In fact, the Fox Sparrow
was something of a Lincoln County nemesis bird for me.

Five minutes after my arrival in the cemetery, I was
looking at a pair of FOX SPARROWs. At last, my Lincoln
County lifer put on a good show for me. Other birds
that I saw in the cemetery were RUBY-CROWNED &
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETs, DARK-EYED JUNCOs,
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWs, VARIED THRUSH, YELLOW-RUMPED
WARBLER, AMERICAN GOLDFINCHs, HERMIT THRUSH, and
RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER.

South of Davenport, I cruised Old Kuchs Road and
viewed SAGE THRASHER (pair courting), VESPER SPARROW,
SAVANNAH SPARROW, AMERICAN PIPIT, WILSON'S SNIPE,
GREATER YELLOWLEGS, KILLDEER, and NO. HARRIER. To the
south of the road, I heard LONG-BIILED CURLEWs.
