Hi Tweets

The Hooded Oriole put in an appearance this morning at 9:30 when it flew into the top of a bare tree just behind the house at 2580 Magnolia (viewing from Constance Dr. W). It stayed for about 30-40 seconds in sunlight. I then left to track down Fred Bird who had just walked around the corner. When we got back, the bird had left. While we scanned the area, the owner came over to talk to us about the oriole. While talking the bird flew in again, and then flew to a tree across the street to the east. It perched for about 30 seconds an flew out of sight behind the house just south of the tree.

Cathie said that she has seen the bird mostly this year around her house and in the neighborhood around W. Montfort Place and 43rd Avenue W.

I had been searching the area for about an hour and 40 minutes before the first sighting so you might be prepared to spend some time.

Good Birding
