It will be interesting to see if they succeed. We have heard that there have
been osprey nesting or trying to nest there in the past. The bad thing about
that location is that the top of the sign is flat sheet aluminum with little
or nothing to hold the nest. Wind speed and strength are greater at that
height because the are no trees or buildings to buffer it. The first good
wind could blow the nest off. Hopefully it will not happen with eggs or
young.

There is an active nest on a cell tower about a mile west of the 76 station
on the south side of the parkway and another on a light standard in the
baseball field at Tibbetts Valley Park where SR900 and Newport Way
intersect. We have been there after dark with games being played under the
lights and the osprey sit on the nest and/or another light standard as if
their ancestors have been doing it for millennia.
