Tweets,

Wet chilly weather on Saturday did not dampen the spirits of nine Yakima
Valley Auduboners who were joined by Tracy Hames and Nathan Burkepile of the
Yakama Indian Nation for the annual YVAS field trip to the Zimmerman
Property. We started the morning at the Campell Rd. property which is
undergoing some renovations to the stream flow and where we saw three
Juvenile BALD EAGLES, feeding on what may have been carp, a brightly
plumaged SAVANNAH SPARROW, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, BLACK-NECKED STILTS and
AMERICAN AVOCETS.

We then went to the Zimmerman property where we were joined by a group from
"Pheasants Forever". Here we heard calling SORA's and VIRGINIA RAILS, saw
displaying YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS, as well as numerous waterfowl and lots
of swallows.

We wrapped up by driving Lateral "C" Rd where we had side by side
comparisons of GREATER and LESSER YELLOWLEGS to Pumphouse Rd for LOGGRHEAD
SHRIKE and on to the Toppenish National Wildlife Refuge Gazebo.
