From: Andrea Wuenschel - chyroptera at yahoo.com

I was at Washington Park in Anacortes today from
10am-4pm for a botanical field-sketching trip.
Managed to see some birds in between sketching!

Highlights:
two barred owls calling back and forth (heard only)
a nice look at a Townsend's solitaire
Loons, grebes, and pigeon guillemots in breeding
plumage
pair of red-breasted nuthatches excavating a cavity
(Full list below)

Non-bird observations:
The flowers were amazing in variety and quantity:
native orchids abounded and the shooting stars are
very prolific this year. If you haven't been to this
park in a while (or ever), you should plan a trip this
spring!

Location: Washington Park
Observation date: 4/22/07
Notes: gorgeous weather: partly cloudy to sunny,
