Yesterday morning I walked down to Lincoln Park from the West Seattle Junction area (Alaska/California) it was such a nice morning, and a favorite walk of mine. I like to walk down Atlas Way, to get down to the waterfront just north of Lowman Beach Park. It was along Atlas Way that I ran smack into a very spectacular White-throated Sparrow, my first. It's head looked all smeared with white. The white throat really stood out, like a crazy looking White-crowned Sparrow.

To find Atlas Drive I would suggest looking it up on an internet map search. It has only local and one way traffic going down the hill so it is nice for walking. I don't imagine this bird will stick around, however.

Brants, Harlequin Ducks and a close to shore Common Loon made it a very nice morning.

For those who know Lincoln Park, I wonder why it has always been a sure place to see Harlequin Ducks, when they are around.
