Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was Made Thursday April 26. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On April 25 a singing male BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER was at McFadden
Marsh in Finley NWR. A TUFTED DUCK continues to be seen at Fern Ridge
Reservoir. It, or another, is being seen at the Pioneer Villa Lagoons in
Brownville.

A major movement of WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, along with smaller numbers of SNOW
GEESE moved northward over Oregon during the week. There were several
reports of CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRDS from the Willamette Valley during the week.
EVENING GROSBEAKS are now entering the valley in good numbers. All expected
migrants are arriving on schedule, but in fairly low numbers. The next two
weeks should provide spectacular birding.

On April 18 a GOLDEN EAGLE was at Ridgefield NWR. A ROSS?S GOOSE is being
seen there and at Ankeny NWR. Both should be leaving soon. A SWAINSON?S HAWK
has been at the Portland Airport all week. A female MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD was at
the Sandy River Delta April 19. On April 22 a pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL and a
breeding plumaged HORNED GREBE were at the Fernhill wetlands in Forest
Grove.

On April 25 an AVOCET was at Ankeny NWR. An adult GOSHAWK was over Eugene
April 22. The WHITE PELICANS are now back at Fern Ridge Reservoir.

On April 19 a WHITE-FACED IBIS was at Hatfield Lake near Bend. On April 22 a
male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER and over 120 COMMON LOONS were on Wickiup
Reservoir south of Bend.
