Just a quick report from the Brady Loop area this afternoon...

I was aimlessly wandering the roads around the Crestview Farm house when Marv Breece pulled up and took me to where he had found the Eurasian Collared Doves. They were located just beyond the right hand turn at the northeast corner of Brady Loop Rd.. We spotted 3 doves in the trees on the left hand side of the road as you are heading south. There is a gray house on the left side that has a couple bird feeders out front and one of the doves was found feeding on the ground below the feeders. Their call is very unique so just listening for them was the key for us to locate them. Perhaps there are more than 3 around?

Marv and I covered the rest of the Brady Loop area together and our other highlight was a Swainson's Hawk. Marv spotted it sitting on a fencepost on the eastern side of the loop just north of Willis St.. The yellow cere, long wing tips extending beyond the tail, and the two tone brown appearance of its back in flight secured its ID. Also, I just saw this species last weekend with the Sullivans. It was a nice county bird for both Marv and I.

We were unable to locate any Black-bellied Plovers to scan through. We did see a couple flocks of them flying around but couldn't find them on the ground.
