Here's the totals from my survey of the shorebirds this morning at Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge located in Hoquiam:

Black-bellied Plover 24
Semipalmated Plover 150
Greater Yellowlegs 10
Red Knot 7
Western Sandpiper 3,000
Dunlin 14,100
Short-billed Dowitcher 13

Also, I saw one Merlin on the walk out to the trail. Two Peregrine Falcons worked the group of shorebirds for a few minutes for all to see. Also, I noted a small group of Common Terns on Moon Island with Caspian Terns. Lastly, on the walk out I spotted a roosting Great Horned Owl in the alders near the intersection of the loop trail near the end of the boardwalk.

See ya at the Shorebird Festival!
