While there is comment on great egrets along the I-5 corridor to the
south, thought I would add my comment. There were four great egrets
in the large pond to the east of I-5 ca. 20 miles north of Portland.
Probably near Kalama. I was looking for turkey vultures ( saw four)
so didn't pinpoint the egrets, but they were all in the pond to the
right (east) of the highway. Also, the ospreys have returned to the
nest platforms along southern I-5 (north of the border).
