This morning at least ten martins were at English Boom on the north
end of Camano Island. All birds were in adult plumage, and several
were banded. One of the males has been a regular in past seasons at
English Boom, breeding there every year following his fledging on
Tulalip Bay in 2001. He's one year short of the oldest martin ever
documented in WA, which was an eight year old bird. Interestingly
another seven year old male was scoped this morning at English
Boom, a bird seen for the first time since it was banded as a
nestling also back in 2001. I wonder where he has been all these
years ?
