Hey tweets, the Tom Lord Nature Trail behind Villa Academy in Seattle
was really popping this morning. I found a spectacular NASHVILLE
WARBLER foraging in the woods, along with numerous ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLERS and YELLOW-RUMPS. In the orchard, a CHIPPING SPARROW and a
late GOLDEN-CROWNED were highlights, along with my year's first
WARBLING VIREO.

Tom Lord is a severely underbirded locale just minutes from the Fill.
It's owned by the Catholic Church and is on the grounds behind (east)
of the Villa. Although it's private property, the owners welcome
birders. If you come, I would strongly recommend that you park on the
street, and not on the grounds. Gates can be closed and locked
unexpectedly, and while at my age, it gets harder to climb over the
stone wall, at least when I do, I still have a car to drive home.

Here's everything I saw here today (without even walking all the way
down to the lake):

double-crested cormorant
bald eagle
sharp-shinned hawk
rock pigeon
Anna's hummingbird
northern flicker
tree swallow
Steller's jay
American crow
black-capped chickadee
Bewick's wren
ruby-crowned kinglet
American robin
warbling vireo
orange-crowned warbler
Nashville warbler
yellow-rumped warbler (both kinds)
song sparrow
golden-crowned sparrow
chipping sparrow
American goldfinch
house finch - Connie, Seattle
