Hi Tweeters -
This morning I spent a few hours in Kent [King Co] - The fields are
drying up, just as the shorebird numbers are building - hopefully
we'll get a little more wetness before all the migrants skip us....

At the fields along 204th [off the end of Frager Rd], a SOLITARY
SANDPIPER [SOSA] was the star of the morning. In addition to the
SOSA, there were about 6 GREATER YELLOWLEGS and a large flock (>50)
of peeps, mostly LEAST SANDPIPERS but with probably 10 or so WESTERN
SANDPIPERS mixed in. After watching the shorebirds for a while, a big
flock of AMERICAN PIPITS moved in, numbering about 100 I'd estimate.

I stopped by the Riverside Marsh and was surprised to hear and then
see a BULLOCK'S ORIOLE chattering away along the closed off portion
of Frager Rd. [accessed by walking passed the barrier that blocks
Frager Rd south of 195th -- approximately across the river from the
path that runs along the south edge of Kent Ponds]
