Thanks to Claudia Turner of Shoreline for reporting her sighting of a male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker last week! Friday evening about 7:15 we spotted him briefly from her driveway. He was in his usual spot on a horizontal limb of the Doug Fir in the yard just NW of the her driveway. I returned this morning about 8:30 am, hoping for better light and a longer look. By the time I had my scope set up he was in sight in the usual spot and remained in view for most of the 30 minutes I was there. I tried but was unable to get any decent photos of this beautiful and cooperative bird. This is a great opportunity for you talented digiscopers.

Good Birding,
