Update on the Shoreline YB SAPSUCKER--First noticed him on 4/22 on the one horizontal fir branch, where he stayed until 4/28. It looked like he had been there at least a few days prior to first sighting. Was a no-show 4/29 and this am so far. Difficult to know if he's nearby as he has been so quiet.
Thanks to all of you fellow birders for sharing our view (and your photos) of this handsome and cooperative bird. More thanks to next door neighbor Tom (whose fir tree he was "mining"). We don't get much opportunity to bird so felt honored to have you bringing your expertise to us. Being able to do all of this from our driveway made it easy. It really was tremendous fun! We will update you if he returns.
