Hi all-
This morning I spent a couple hours checking for shorebirds in Kent.
I was unable to relocate the Black-necked Stilt Charlie Wright found
yesterday at the 212th construction pond. Other than that though,
there were lots of shorebirds around:
SEMIPALMATED PLOVER - 3 at the 204th x Frager fields
KILLDEER - several at all stops
LESSER YELLOWLEGS - 1 at Boeing Ponds early
GREATER YELLOWLEGS - A few around, numbers down from last week
WESTERN SANDPIPERS - Increasing numbers, but still in the minority in
the peep flocks
LEAST SANDPIPERS - many on any muddy surface, at 204th, 212th, and Boeing Ponds

Also present:
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD - 1 at Boeing Ponds
WESTERN TANAGER - 3 - a pair at the Riverview Marsh, 1 female at Boeing Ponds.

Otherwise, Orange-crowned & Yellow-rumped Warblers were all over the
place, a Northern Harrier contiues to work the area between the 204th
fields & Boeing Ponds, several duckling & goslings were squeaking at
Boeing Ponds -- great quick morning.

Directions :

212th Construction Ponds - west of Frager Road - I think the easiest
access to this spot is to park at Frager & 212th and walk the 5
minutes or so back west to the construction area. The big pulloff
right by the pond is an access point for the construction work, and
it seemed to regularly have traffic coming & going.

204th St fields - between Orillia Rd and Frager Rd. Coming west on
212th, turn north on Frager & follow road to end where you turn left
onto 204th. [Also accessible up the hill by a cemetary off Orillia].

Riverview Marsh: accessed by walking passed the barrier that blocks
Frager Rd south of 195th -- approximately across the river from the
path that runs along the south edge of Kent Ponds]
