This year especially, there have been a large number of Brants hanging out
at the beach next to the Des Moines, WA marina on a daily basis. I haven't
noticed them being as prevalent in years past, but they are a fun addition
to the ever changing beach population there. Their gentle cackling, sea
grass nibbling and skittish ways are endearing. The local Osprey have been
making brief appearances , and I'm sure as the season progresses they will
be seen more as they hunt for food to feed their offspring.
