Hello Tweeties,

I just finished a bird story that you might enjoy, a
story about how birds reveal that brain growth is
triggered by steroid hormones rather than by
experience. A research study by UW scientists in
white-crowned sparrows showed that brain areas are
directly stimulated to grow by steroid hormones,
suggesting that steroid hormone treatment might
possibly help repair brain damage in humans caused by
strokes or neurodegenerative diseases. Story includes
