I just got the following e-mail from a visiting birder. I have asked
him to send more detailed information about where he saw the bird, which
I will post when I get it. Unfortunately, the actual sighting was a
week ago.

Subject: laughing gull

Hello,

I'm a belgian birdwatcher who's just back from the west-coast. On the
24th of july we saw an adult laughing gull at gray's harbour. I tried to
email the seatle rare bird alert but that was only possible if outlook
was installed on the computer. I'm sorry for the delay...

I've got some photo's of the bird.

Are there many sighting's of laughing gull in NW-America?? I had rather
seen the adult stilt sandpiper!!

greetings,
Geert Beckers
