Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday August 2. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

Shorebirds movements slowed during the week with the first juveniles
arriving. GREAT EGRET numbers are now increasing west of the Cascades.

On July 25 a YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was in Seaside. A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD
was seen July 26 in Vancouver. On July 28 a BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD was in
Vancouver. A group of six BLACK SWIFTS were seen July 31 over Mt. Tabor Park
in southeast Portland.

On July 29 six BREWER?S SPARROWS were in the farm fields along Belts Road
south of Brownsville; one is still being seen at Fern Ridge Reservoir. A
female BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD was at Malheur NWR Headquarters last
week-end.

That?s it for this week.
