I stopped by the foot of Discovery Bay around 4:30PM yesterday afternoon. In
the mixed flock of gulls & terns were California Gulls, Glaucous-winged &
Glaucous- winged - Western hybrid Gulls, Caspian Terns, 1 Mew Gull, 2
Bonaparte's Gulls & 1 Franklin's Gull. The Franklin's Gull is an adult,
whose head is still dark black with the two white eye crescents. The
Bonaparte's heads have molted considerably and the black head is faint.

The shorebirds were mostly Least Sandpipers with a few Westerns,
Semi-palmated Plovers and 2 Killdeer.

Good birding,
