Actually, when the hydros and Blue Angels are in town, this is a good time
for new yard birds. Best was several years ago when amidst the vague distant
roar, seven presumably displaced CASPIAN TERNS came careening awkwardly just
over the tree tops in this largely forested quiet neighborhood just off 150th
SE in Eastgate, some distance from the lake, and to date, my one and only
yard record of going on 15 years. What a sight that was! Otherwise, I can
usually count on a Osprey or two or three during this time which often amounts
to the only yard detection all year.

Watching the Blue Angels on TV from the U-District and am also watching the
reactions of the birds. There are crows and pigeons flying all over the
place, gulls too. They don't like those big noisy birds!
