The Potholes Rookery is reached: in Moses Lake take Exit 174 from I-90. Go
west on the frontage road on the south side of the freeway 2.5 miles to D.5
(presently unmarked). Go left on this gravel road 2.6 miles to a fork. Go
right here 1.1 miles to another fork. Go right and downhill here another 1.2
miles to the edge of the Potholes Reservoir. There should be lots of
pelicans, cormorants, herons and egrets, and shorebirds visible from here.
You can continue along the road to a "camping" area, most likely deserted at
this time of year.
