Penny Koyama, Justine Busse, and I spent a nice morning at Marymoor Park
in Redmond. The most unusual bird we saw was one Baird's Sandpiper,
with a flock of 7-8 Least Sandpipers and several Killdeer. We found
this flock on the soccer field just west of the row of big snags near
the dog park lot. There were another 24 Killdeer on a soccer field
nearby. Another highlight was a juvenile Hairy Woodpecker. Did this
species nest at Marymoor this year?
