Hi Tweets

This morning I spent an hour or two perusing shorebirds at Lind Coulee and
Perch Point on Potholes Reservoir

The following were noted:

BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER - 1 (molting from alternate to basic plumage)
SEMIPALMATED PLOVER - 2
Killdeer - many
SANDERLING - 1
Western Sandpiper - 40 or so
Least Sandpiper - 10
Baird's Sandpiper - 8
Long-billed Dowitcher - 5
Wilson's Snipe - 3
Red-necked Phalarope - 1

Other nice birds seen at Perch Point:
several American White Pelicans, 16 Great Egrets, and 3 Black-crowned
Night-Herons.

A warbler chip at Lind Coulee found me abandoning the shorebirds and pishing
in the lush vegetation along the banks. I found it amazing to locate two
Nashville Warblers, a single MacGillivray's Warbler, and single Empid
flycatcher that darted somewhere and was never relocated. Also 9 Lark
Sparrows at Lind Coulee included several young and these probably bred in
the area.

Cheers
