The Washington Onithological Society conference for September 14-17th 2007 is in the final stages of planning. The pelagic trip for Saturday the 15th is full, but the trips for Sunday the 16th and Monday the 17th still have space available. I am sorry to report that Steve Howell, trip leader for Wings and author A Guide to the Birds of Mexico, will not be attending on the pelagics as he originally planned. He was called away to Peru to help with building their ecotourism industry. Never the less, we are planning on world-class pelagic birding, with extra spotters planned for the Sunday and Monday trips. We also have a wide variety of land-based trips, with an emphasis on migrating shorebirds, and evening presentations by Michael Donahue and Dennis Paulson. If you have thought about birding on the Washington coast, this is the opportunity. To register, go to http://www.wos.org/WOSConf.htm, or contact the conference registration coordinator Cindy McCormack directly at <nwbirder at gmail.com>.
