Hi Tweeters,

A few of us in the Yakima Valley Audubon Society (Andy and Ellen
Stepniewski, John Hebert, Vera Backstrom and me) have taken part in
two or more (or many more) trips to the high country of Yakima County
to find a White-tailed Ptarmigan. So far we have been
unsuccessful. We are already planning next year's trip.

Our latest trip was July 27-29. This time Scott Sandsberry, the
Outdoors section editor of the Yakima Herald-Republic, went with
us. He took his notebook. He also wrote a delightful article on our
trip, with some references to previous trips.
