Hello Tweeters -

Walking the D-o-g on the b-e-a-c-h today (yes we have to spell a few words in our house), I had a fun little unexpected encounter at about 4 pm today.

It had been pretty quiet since tide is going out and it's the middle of the afternoon, so not much is usually flying around. As we were walking back towards home, I stopped under a tree that has a dinghy underneath it on dry land, to see what I could see. I walked to the left and just above me in the dead tree next to this landing I saw movement - looked up and there was this little Cooper's Hawk perched on a lower branch. It sat there for a few moments and then proceeded to hop up to higher branches until it decided it was time to locate an afternoon snack!

I never get this lucky with any birds of prey...

I am including links to the uploaded pictures on my Flickr page - Enjoy!
