Tweeters,

The shorebird activity today at the Stanwood STP marsh was quite active. I
checked the area out briefly late this morning. Upon arriving, I would
estimate that there were 250-300 shorebirds present in the small marshy
area. As I got out of the car and was setting up the scope a dark PEREGRINE
made several low passes over the marsh, sending all the shorebirds into the
air and clearing the area entirely of birds before I even had a chance to
scope anything.

I continued on in to the main pond and scoped it. Highlight was 1 WILSON'S
PHALAROPE amongst 25 RED-NECKED PHALAROPE on the north end of the main pond.

Upon returning to the main entrance and the marshy area I located 1 STILT
SANDPIPER (seen yesterday by Steve Mlodinow), several LESSER and GREATER
YELLOWLEGS and a SNIPE.

Late this evening in very low light I was able to check again for just a
couple minutes. Again, as I arrived and was setting up the scope, the dark
PEREGRINE passed over a couple times scattering the shorebirds that I
estimate around 100 in total count. About 30 returned. Additional species
seen this evening not noted this morning there were: KILLDEER, LB DOWITCHER,
SOLITARY SANDPIPER, SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, LEAST SANDPIPER, and WESTERN
SANDPIPER.

No signs of Eurasian Collared-Doves today.
