Hello All,

Today under heavy overcast and rain we went looking for grounded vagrants.
We located the following great birds:

American Redstart - 1 male in willows by Hwy 730 pullout just west of Port
Kelly in western Walla Walla County. #227 for our county year
list.Photographed
American Golden Plover - at Dodd road "blood" ponds just past the Tyson
plant. This bird is in eclipse plumage. Photographed.
Also at these ponds:
Pectoral Sandpiper - 3
Baird's Sandpiper - 32
Western Sandpiper - 200
Least Sandpiper - 50
Killdeer - 30
Yellow-headed Blackbirds - 45

At the pond behind Tyson:
Red-necked Phalarope - 190
Wilson's Phalarope - 4
Long-billed Dowitcher - 5
Molting Mallards - 300+

At MP300 pond - Black-necked Stilt - 1 bird

Hood Park is pretty dead as they cleared out all the Russian Olives so only
found:
Nashville Warbler - 1 bright male
Wilson's Warbler - 1 female
Warbling Vireo - 1
Western Tanager - 2

Great Egret - 2 at the Walla Walla river delta and 1 at McNary NWR HQ

Swainson's Hawk - 33 on Gardena Road at the Probert ranch.
N. Harrier - 6 on Byrnes Road
Brewer's Sparrow - 2 on Byrnes Road
Black-headed Grosbeak - 1 on Byrnes Road
Great Horned Owl - 1 on Byrnes Road

Last but not least - 1 White-crowned Sparrow along Mill Creek yesterday for
our first of the fall.
