I finally had some Swainson's Thrush migration this morning over my
yard in Battle Ground, Clark County. Between 5:15-5:45, there were
about 24 noted and porobably alot more but they were pretty high up.
Also, one Yellow Warbler. After daybreak, there were:

Yellow Warbler 1
Black-throated Gray Warbler 1 (new year yard bird)
Western Wood Pewee 3
Willow Flycatcher 1
Western Tanager 1
Cedar Waxwings many

Observers at the south end of Bainbridge Island and at Bonney Lake
(Pierce County)have recorded many Swainson's Thrushes this past week.

Lots of Tree Swallows, Violet-Green Swallows and Vaux's Swifts which
are now all migrants in my neighborhood.

The rains of the last several days have left enough water in the
seasonal pond 100 yards from the back deck that it attracted 20
Mallards, two Wood Ducks and a Great Blue Heron. Hoepfully the
shorebirds will find it!

Keep your ears skyward tonight. The wind is supposed to change to
Northwest and the skys clearing so there might be some good nocturnal
migration tonight.
