Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday August 23. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On August 19 a WILSON?S PLOVER was reported at Warrenton. It could not be
relocated. Two HUDSONIAN GODWITS and a GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE were at Summer
Lake August 17. A male RUFF was at Fern Ridge Reservoir August 18. Another
RUFF was on Bayshore Beach, north of Waldport August 20. A YELLOW-BILLED
LOON was seen August 16 at Yaquina Bay.

Heavy migrations were reported during the week, including several reports of
BUFF-BREASTED and BAIRD?S SANDPIPERS. On August 19 ten PACIFIC
GOLDEN-PLOVERS, 7 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS, and 2100 RED-NECKED PHALAROPES
were on the North Spit of Coos Bay.

On August 21 two CLARK?S GREBES were on Vancouver Lake. Up to 13 WHITE
PELICANS and 119 GREAT EGRETS were at Smith/Bybee Lakes in North Portland
during the week. On August 20 a BLACK SWIFT was over Oregon City. A WILSON?S
PHALAROPE and six RED-NECKED PHALAROPES were at the Fernhill Wetlands August
22.

A male BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD was near Fossil August 16.
